Sweeney - Mary

Yountsville, June 23 – Mrs. Mary C. Sweeney, well known woman of the county died at her home in this place early this morning. She was born in Germany, Feb 27, 1851 and came to this country with her parents during her childhood. She had lived for the past 37 years in the home she and her husband built at Yountsville. When she was 15 years of age she united with the Lutheran Church at Dayton, Ohio in which she held her membership until death. The deceased is survived by two sons, OJ Sweeney of South Bend and BC Sweeney of Memphis, Tenn and two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Little of Darlington and Mrs. Grace Sweeney Williams of Crawfordsville. Mr. Sweeney preceded his wife in death about 20 years ago. The funeral will be held from the home at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. UG Leazenby will have charge of the services and burial will be mad in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery.
